Chelsea sent come-and-get-me plea from Prem striker as Pochettino eyes short-term solution

According to the report from express.co, Chelsea’s interest will certainly have piqued after reported target Jhon Duran opened up about his future. It was recently claimed that the Blues had identified the Aston Villa striker as they scour the January transfer market for short-term solutions.informationguidenigeria

Pochettino hasnt been best pleased with how his Chelsea side has fared in front of goal so far this season, with new signing Nicolas Jackson struggling for consistency. Therefore, it had been mooted that the club may look to the transfer market to solve their problems, especially considering the ex-Villarreal man is away on AFCON duty.

And according to Di Marzio, the Blues have ‘dicussed internally’ signing Duran from Villa during the winter window – with a decision not yet made on whether they’d press ahead with a pursuit of the 20-year-old.

But Chelsea will have been placed on alert following the comments from the Villa striker, who joined from Chicago Fire at the beginning of last year. “I remain focused on Aston Villa,” Duran said to Colombian outlet Win Sports TV when quizzed on links to Chelsea, as well as Serie A giants AC Milan.JAMB Result

“I am not aware of interest from AC Milan or Chelsea. They are giant clubs, and it would be a pleasure. But I have no knowledge of anything. As a child you dream of playing there.” While Duran said he’s committed to Villa for now, Chelsea may be interested in pursuing a move to see if he’d be tempted to make the switch.NYSC Portal

Chelsea have been linked with big-money moves for the likes of Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney, but after spending over £1billion under Todd Boehly and FFP restrictions in place, they won’t be spending big this month. The Premier League outfit could therefore look for a short-term solution during the January market, and go big in the summer once they’ve offloaded some of their high-earners.JAMB Portal

A move for Duran could prove a shrewd piece of business for the Blues, given his Premier League experience, albeit brief, and physicality which certainly matches the intensity of the English top-flight.
