Cleric justifies APC Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket

Sheikh Ibrahim Daimagoro, an Islamic cleric, has stated that the All Progressives Congress’ decision to pair a Muslim candidate with a Muslim vice-presidential candidate on its presidential ticket for the 2023 election is not inappropriate.Information Guide Nigeria

Danmaigoro, addressing during a prayer session held in honor of Kwara state governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq in Ilorin on Monday, highlighted the recent election of two Christians as governor and deputy governor in Osun State as evidence of the legitimacy of the APC’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

Danmaigoro remarked that the people of Osun State abandoned their religious beliefs by voting for the Peoples Democratic Party’s Christian-Christian ticket in the governorship race.JAMB portal

“If there is nothing wrong in the people of Osun State voting for the PDP’s Christian-Christian ticket, then there is nothing wrong in Nigerians supporting the presidential candidate of the APC and his running mate, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kassim Shettima who are both Muslims.NYSC portal

“What should be paramount in the minds of Nigerians is the election of capable hand as the nation’s next president and Tinubu has all it takes to make Nigeria great again,” the cleric said.

Though the event was intended to celebrate the birthday of AlhAbdulHameed Sambo, a former member of the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission, it became a prayer ground for Governor AbdulRazaq and Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu.
