Consider sets 100m world lead

Nineteen-year-old Nigerian athlete, Ekanem Consider’s 100m time of 10.10s has been ratified by the World Athletics as the leading time this year, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Consider stormed to the time to win the men’s 100m at the inaugural Dynamic Outdoor Meet held on Saturday January 27 at the Nigerian Navy Sports Centre, Ojo, Lagos.

It was the first competition for home-based athletes in the 2024 season.NYSC Portal

At the 2019 edition of the African Games in Morocco, Nigeria dominated the men’s 100m event and athletics generally. Raymond Ekevwo won the 100m in 9.96s while Usheoritse Itsekiri won bronze in 10.02s.
