Courts nullify primary elections in Kwara, Kaduna

The All Progressives Congress primary election in Kwara State was once more declared invalid by the Federal High Court in Ilorin, Kwara State. Hon. Raheem Olawuyi Ajulo-bid opin’s to represent the state’s federal seat in the 2023 election was also declared invalid.Information Guide Nigeria

Oluwasegun Adebayo was declared the winner of the election and thus confirmed as the legitimate APC candidate for the party’s election in the Isin/Oke-Ero/Ekiti/Irepodun Federal Constituency of the House of Representatives in 2023 by Justice Mohammed Sani, who delivered the judgement in Ilorin on Wednesday.

Adebayo claimed in the lawsuit he had submitted to the court that Ajulo-Opin had run in the primary that ultimately resulted in Senator Lola Ashiru being declared the victor of the Kwara South APC senate ticket.

Adebayo responded to the court decision on Wednesday by calling his triumph “good news” and noted that it was a victory for everyone.

However, Hon Ajulo-Opin remarked that he had unwavering faith in the country’s court in a statement released in Omu-Aran on Wednesday.

In addition, a Federal High Court in Kaduna ordered a new election for the Kaduna Central Senatorial District to be held in 14 days on Wednesday after declaring the People’s Democratic Party primary election invalid.

The Independent National Electoral Commission named Lawal Adamu, commonly known as “Mr LA,” as the winner of the primary election and the party’s nominee for the Kaduna Central senatorial district in the 2023 election. Usman Ibrahim, his primary rival, still brought him into court.JAMB Result
