The ongoing crisis in Rivers State recently escalated when 27 lawmakers, who are loyal to former governor Nyesome Wike, defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In response, lawmakers allied with Governor Fubara declared the defectors’ seats vacant and called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to organize fresh elections to fill these vacancies.informationguidenigeria
