D’Prince convinced me to do Afrobeats instead of Rap – Rema reveals

Undoubtedly, award-winning singer Rema is expanding the audience for Nigerian music. D’Prince is credited by Rema for recognising quality in him that he was unaware he possessed.Information Guide Nigeria

Rema, who has a record deal with Jonzing Records, claimed that D’Prince, his employer, discovered him while he was enjoying rap and offered him a record deal.

The vocalist of “Calm Down” revealed that the music entrepreneur and singer persuaded him to convert from rap music to Afrobeats.

He claims that he expressed hesitation and claimed that he is a rapper when D’Prince asked him to adopt the Afrobeats genre.

Rema said; “D’Prince told me that he likes my voice, and he feels like I’m gonna sound really good on Afrobeats. I told him I don’t really do Afrobeat, I just rap, so he said ‘Give it a try’.”
