FA Cup: Keown blames three Arsenal players for 2-0 defeat to Liverpool

Arsenal legend Martin Keown has pointed to the roles of three players in contributing to Liverpool’s first goal during their recent FA Cup third-round match at the Emirates, where the Gunners suffered a 2-0 defeat. The match saw Liverpool score an opening goal through an own goal by Jakub Kiwior, followed by a late goal from Luis Diaz.NYSC Portal

Keown specifically commented on the own goal incident. He observed that Kiwior unintentionally deflected Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross into Arsenal’s net.InformationGuideNigeria

In his analysis, Keown also scrutinized the involvement of centre-half Gabriel Magalhães in the lead-up to the goal. He suggested that Gabriel might have played a part in the defensive breakdown that led to the own goal.JAMB Result

Additionally, Keown criticized the response of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. He believed Ramsdale was “too slow” in reacting and moving off his line to intervene or better position himself against the incoming cross from Alexander-Arnold.JAMB Portal

He told BBC One: “I just wondered if Gabriel could have headed it the other way, he seemed to just collapse.

“The goalkeeper can’t get to it, Ramsdale is late to move off. Kiowor, I feel he should be doing a lot better.

“Of course he is not doing that deliberately. But there is always something you can do to improve that.”
