You can visit SCOAN from anywhere around the world, whether you are from Africa, Europe, America, or any other place in the world. Despite how tedious visiting SCOAN might seem, people still visit the synagogue every single day for one reason or the other.

The high-populated number of people who visit SCOAN daily has made it impossible to get an official invitation from the church. It takes too long to get invitation from the church after submitting the visitors’ questionnaire form, and most times the effort becomes futile.

Even if you finally get an invitation from SCOAN after filling the visitation form, you might not be able to afford the high-priced accommodation within the church premises.

The difficulty of getting an official invitation from SCOAN and not having enough money to pay for the high cost of accommodation within SCOAN premises are two outstanding challenges most people often face while planning their visit to SCOAN.

But any way, there are cheaper, faster and easier ways to visit SCOAN even without an official invitation from the church and you will equally be attended to easily and stand a chance of seeing the Man of God, Prophet TB Joshua, face to face.

Steps to get to SCOAN in Nigeria

Here are steps you can take if you want to visit SCOAN:

1. Get Ready to Answer Questions About Your Health

Many people visit SCOAN because they need healing of a sickness or disability. That’s why you will need to answer questions about your health when you submit your application.

Although most health circumstances will not affect your application negatively, you won’t be able to qualify for accommodations on the premises if you have medical troubles that make it hard for you to move around because these accommodations are on upper floors.

However, someone can go in your stead if you do not qualify for SCOAN accommodations. You can alternatively arrange for daytime visitation to the prayer line. In this case, you will need accommodations outside the premises.

2. Fill Out the Online Questionnaire

You need to fill out the questionnaire candidly, which is your visitation application. You can access your visitation application through the SCOAN website.

Here is the link to access the form: http://www.scoan.org/visit/visit-us/. You will need to provide your real name, age, gender, nationality, phone number, e-mail address, as well as have a relative’s name and contact information ready.

You need to indicate whether or not you are ill, and if you are you will need to state the nature of your problem, its symptoms, its duration, and other relevant information. You will need to also indicate if you are HIV positive or have a physical handicap that stops you from moving around freely.

If you decide to go with somebody, each person must fill out a separate questionnaire. The final “Comments” section of the form is where you will indicate who you plan to come to SCOAN with.

3. Wait for Confirmation

Confirmation comes before any travel arrangements. SCOAN officials will contact you to inform you if and when you can visit, after receiving your questionnaire. Please note that it’s not advisable to visit scoan without invitation.

4. Maintain Contact with SCOAN

There is an e-mail address if you need to contact the church before or after confirmation. To do so, simply send an e-mail to the official scoan email address: info@scoan.org.

5. Get SCOAN invitation letter

When you application to visit SCOAN is approved, you will get official “scoan invitation letter” from the church. This is what you will use when applying for NIgerian Tourist Visa. You will also need to present this letter when you arrive at the church premises.

6. Prepare Your Travel Arrangements

You will need to travel overseas to get to SCOAN, so you need to apply for a passport if you do not have one already. It is important to get your passport ready before making your trip.

When you apply for your passport, you will need to provide proof of citizenship, proof of identity and passport photo. You will need to pay a fee of $135 with your application after filling out the appropriate form (Form DS-11), and submit it in person to a passport agency or acceptance facility. You will wait until you receive your passport before applying for a visa.

If you live outside West Africa, you will need to obtain a visa to enter Nigeria to locate SCOAN. The Nigerian Embassy is the body that issues visa. They will send you an official invitation letter when your visitation is approved. You will need to provide this letter with your visa application form.

You should apply for a Nigerian tourist visa, and submit your applications and fees to the Nigerian Immigration Service website: https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/pages/welcome.

You should fill out the application online, print it out, and submit it to the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C. Embassy of Nigeria, Consular Section, 3519 International Court, NW, Washington, DC 20008.

You will have to include evidence of your primary online payment with your application, an additional processing fee of $30, your current passport, two passport sized pictures, your letter of invitation, and evidence of sufficient funds for your stay. You will need to provide your confirmed hotel reservation if you are not staying within SCOAN premises.

You will need to schedule your own flight with any airline of your choice and the scheduled arrival of your flight will need to be for the first day of your scheduled visit. You need to contact SCOAN with the arrival time after you have your flight booked, so that the church representatives will come to meet you at the airport.

SCOAN accommodation fees on church premises

You should make arrangements with the church to stay in one of the guest rooms, unless you have a disability that the SCOAN premises are not equipped to handle.

There are family rooms, private rooms and dormitories, each room equipped with toilet, hot shower, and air conditioning system.

There is also a dining room that serves three full meals each day. You can buy drinks, snacks and toiletries from the church shop if you need extra.

You can contact the church representatives and enquire about close hotel accommodations, if SCOAN cannot accommodate you.

7. Make Your Trip to Lagos Nigeria

You can plan for a one-day or seven-day visit, depending on what you want. Most international guests stay for one week, but you can schedule a single daytime visit if you only want to visit the church prayer line.

Most international visitors are encouraged to stay for a full week, instead of single daytime visits that are usually for those prevented by physical disability or severe illness from staying for the full week.

If you only plan to visit for one day to look for healing, Sunday is the day you should visit. But a seven-day visit allows you to attend different church services, listen to diverse testimonies, watch faith-building videos, and listen to lectures from the founder of the church, Prophet T.B. Joshua.

There is a Faith Resort Ground, where you can visit prayer huts and other prayer grounds and meet with different prayer partners.

Put on loose, cool, and comfortable clothing to prevent you from overheating, and make your clothing to be fairly modest.

You need to come with enough money, as you will need to pay for services such as internet and telephone facilities. You will also need to pay cash for anything you buy from the church shop. SCOAN accepts cash payments in the form of the U.S. Dollar, Pound Sterling, and Euro.

Don’t wander about alone but rely on the official representatives to guide and help you during your stay. A representative will meet you at the airport and lead you to the church. SCOAN has made arrangements for official representatives to come to the airport to pick guests who have followed the right procedure, and accompany them back to the airport when they are leaving.

You are advised never to leave if you are staying on the premises. You will be guided by authorized church personnel if you want to visit the prayer retreat center on the other side of the premises.
