Burna Boy, whose album ‘Twice As Tall’ won the “Best Global Music Album” category at the 63rd Grammy Awards, said he felt “responsible” for the development of the new African music category.NYSC Portal 

This was said by the self-proclaimed “African Giant” in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times.

Burna Boy said, “I do feel somewhat responsible for the new ‘Best African Music Performance’ category, which is nice. At the same time, what is it really? Is it a consolation category? Will it hold as much prestige? I’m waiting to see.”JAMB Portal

According to the organisers, the category is open to both modern and traditional African music, such as Afrobeats, Afro-pop, Amapiano, High Life, Fuji, and so on.
