A group, United Abia Artistes and Patriots Forum, UAAP, has urged the Abia State Government to pay the March salaries of civil servants in the State. DAILY POST reports.Information Guide Nigeria
It also demanded the payment of pensioners in the State to enable them to attend to their personal and family needs.
The convener of UAAP, Ambassador Osita Offor, together with other members of the group, alleged that the state government had failed to pay civil servants and pensioners despite receiving March 2023 federal allocations in addition to internally generated revenues, IGR.

The forum, which said it had written a letter to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on the issue, alleged that civil servants and pensioners did not celebrate the 2023 Easter with joy as there was no money in their pockets for the festival.

However, the State government last week accused commercial banks of not resuming financial transactions with the State, even though an Abuja High Court had vacated its ex parte order on Abia State accounts which it froze earlier.
It also threatened to seal Abia State branches of any commercial bank that continued to hold onto the State’s funds.JAMB Result
