Gunmen abduct ex-accountant general, pharmacist, release managing director

Former Cross River State Accountant-General Rose Bassey has been abducted by armed men.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the victim and three others were abducted on Tuesday at Uyanga-Okomita axis of the Ikom-Calabar highway.Information Guide Nigeria

According to reports, one of the victims was shot and admitted to a hospital whose name has not been published for treatment.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Irene Ugbo, declined to comment on the matter.

He stated that the two-man gang had parked their SUV behind the woman minutes after she arrived at the facility.

In a similar occurrence, gunmen in an SUV abducted two women, including a pharmacist, along the Apara Link Road in Mgbuoba, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State.

According to an eyewitness, the armed criminals entered a local pharmacy and pulled their victims into a waiting vehicle.

The eyewitness, who requested anonymity, stated that the second abductee was a lady who had brought her child to the drugstore for treatment, and that the perpetrators may have followed her there.JAMB portal

Grace Iringe-Koko, the police spokeswoman for the state, stated she was unaware of the occurrence.

The Managing Director of Igpes Group Oil and Gas, a company situated in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, who was kidnapped around 11 days ago near the Rumuokoro overpass, has been released.

Recall that gunmen intercepted a Hilux van carrying the victim and some staff members, and then shot and murdered three police officers who were accompanying them.

The crooks then isolated the managing director, hauled him to their waiting vehicle, and sped off to an unidentified location.JAMB Result
