What is the NYSC Dress Code?

The NYSC dress code was established on the 22^nd of May, 1973, and the dress code has been maintained ever since. The dress code was made devoid of ethnic, religious, or gender bias. The official NYSC dress code is as follows;Npower recruitment

• A pair of khaki trousers and shirt
• Crested vest
• White vest
• A pair of white shorts
• A pair of zebra-stripped socks
• A pair of jungle boots
• A pair of canvas
• Belt
• Face cap

The management of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has announced that any other dress code contrary to the officially sanctioned NYSC dress code will attract disciplinary actions.

Note: The NYSC board does not issue the hijab as a part of the official dress code. However, the scheme permits the use of white hijab which must not be longer than your shoulder length, and must be tucked into your NYSC uniform.

How to Get the NYSC Uniform

To obtain the NYSC uniform you must first report to the NYSC camp. Upon getting there, and completing your registration you will be directed to where you will make payment and obtain your complete NYSC uniform. Below is a breakdown of the full NYSC kit and its cost.WAEC result

Dress Code for the NYSC Orientation Camp

Once you report to the NYSC camp, you will be required to change into the official camp wear. That is of course after obtaining yours at the office. The official NYSC camp wear is white short, white T-shirt, white NYSC socks, and white table tennis shoe or jungle boot. You are also required to put on your NYSC state tag at all times using a cardholder around your neck.JAMB form

The NYSC cap must be worn faced front at all times during the camp. You are expected to wear this everywhere, including to the parade, kitchen, camp market (Mami), your duty post, and even in your room.JAMB Result

Dress Code for the NYSC Swearing-In Ceremony

On the day of the swearing-in ceremony for corps members, you are expected to put on the NYSC ceremonial wear tag 6/7. That is, you are expected to put on 6 out of 7 NYSC complete uniforms. The complete NYSC wear includes:

1. The NYSC cap
2. The NYSC crested vest
3. The NYSC belt
4. The NYSC khaki trouser
5. The NYSC socks
6. The NYSC jungle boot

The Seventh wear which is not needed is the;

7. The NYSC khaki shirt.
