‘I won’t back down’ — Keyamo appeals dismissal of ‘money laundering’ suit against Atiku

Festus Keyamo, former minister of state for labour, says he has filed an appeal to challenge a court ruling dismissing his money laundering suit against Atiku Abubakar. THE CABLE reports.

In a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/84/2023, Keyamo asked the court for an order compelling Abubakar “to submit himself to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC ) for thorough investigation”.

In a statement on Tuesday, John Anietor, assistant head of Keyamo chambers, said the former minister would not “back down” on the case.NYSC Portal

Anietor added that the case would be taken  “all the way to the apex court”.

“Earlier today, Mr Festus Keyamo, SAN, CON, filed an appeal against the ruling of the Hon. Justice J.K Omotosho of the federal high court dismissing his suit which sought to compel law enforcement agencies to investigate Atiku Abubakar over the SPV saga,” the statement reads.

“We have raised an initial four grounds of appeal with a possibility of raising additional grounds of appeal.”
