I’ll Reconcile Benue To Central Government, Prioritise Security – Alia

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has promised to reconnect the state to the central government in order to reap the benefits of cooperation and check cases of insecurity affecting the state. THE WILL reports.Information Guide Nigeria

Governor Alia, who made the promise at the IBB Square, Makurdi, after he was sworn in as the 6th Executive Governor of Benue State alongside his Deputy, Samuel Ode, decried incessant killings by invaders.

“I will prioritise the security of lives and property of our people by ending insecurity occasioned by farmer/herder crisis, returning our IDPs to their ancestral homes and providing them a means of livelihood in a new economy,” he said.JAMB Result

“Benue is broken and needs a reset. The moment is here and the time is now. A new Benue is possible,” he stated.

He revealed that the state will be industrialised through agriculture and massive rural development, which cannot be done through government alone and will create the conditions that promote private sector-led agriculture-driven industrialisation.
