For a smartphone with such amazing specs as 2GB RAM and expandable 16GB on board storage, 5MP shooters front and back, 5 inch display and a decent battery. All wrapped in a stylishly finished body. I Was expecting the Innjoo to fall within the #25,000-# – #30,000 price range. But, to my amazement, the device sells for a give away price of #17,700.

Innjoo Fire DESIGN

The Innjoo is a stylish and premium looking smartphone. Finished in a combo of neatly chamfered metallic frame. And plastic rear cover. With the buttons neatly and appropriately arranged.

The front of the Innjoo Fire is the 5 inches IPS capacitive touchscreen. This accommodates the 5MP front snapper and the soft keys at the bottom.

Along the metallic frame, the standard buttons are arranged. With the power/standby button placed at the left-hand side of the frame. While the volume rocker is placed at the right-hand side of the frame. This makes it suitable for performing screenshots with ease.

The top side of the frame accommodates the headphone jack. While the bottom side of the frame accommodates the microUSB port.

Flip the device over and you will find the 5MP primary snapper at the upper side of the rear. With the dual LED flash beside it. The horizontal shaped speaker grills can be found at the near bottom of the rear. And to wrap up the design, the Innjoo logo is neatly imprinted close to the middle of the rear cover.

Removing the rear cover reveals the poly carbonate shell accommodating other features of the Innjoo Fire. Like the battery, the microSD slot and the dual SIM slots.

The Innjoo Fire comes at 8.9mm thick, 162g weight and available in a range of beautiful colours – classic black, elegant white, luxury gold and yellow bamboo.

For a mid-ranger, The Innjoo Fire sports an impressive design. The ergonomics is awesome. As the phone feels nice to hold and fits comfortably well to the pocket.

Innjoo Fire DISPLAY

The Innjoo Fire sports a 5inch IPS capacitive touchscreen. With a resolution of 540 by 960 pixels.

This is not the best of displays anyway. But not too poor for a budget smartphone.

Also, with a 5 inch display, the Innjoo Fire offers you big enough screen for watching videos, playing games, surfing the internet and working on word documents.

More so, the colour reproduction isn’t the worst we have seen on a budget smartphone. At least when the display brightness is cranked up to the highest, it serves well in bright sunlight. Better still, setting the display brightness to auto mode enables the phone to adjust to different light exposures.

Innjoo Fire CAMERA

The Innjoo Fire sports 5MP cameras front and back. The primary camera and the accompanying dual LED flash is positioned at the top corner of the rear. This is a huge downgrade from the 13MP primary snapper on the Innjoo One. However, with a host of features built into the camera sensor of the Innjoo Fire, the brand promised that the device is capable of delivering nice photos. Including the 5MP front snapper.

In a world where phone cameras are packing massive mega pixels alongside amazing photo-enhancing features. The Innjoo Fire is surely not made for photo freaks. But, you can get usable photos in a well-lit environment from the Innjoo Fire’s cameras.

Innjoo Fire PROCESSOR AND OPERATING SYSTEM

The Innjoo Halo runs Android OS v4.4.2 (kitkat) out of the box. With the company’s InnUI on top. This offered a bit of modifications to the stock Android.

There is the absence of app drawer. The icons are arranged in grid format directly on homescreen. However, you can change this by downloading and installing any other app launcher.

The device also comes with a host of Pre-installed apps and variety of themes which gives the user room for customization and personalization.

Under the hood, the device is powered by a Quad-core MediaTek processor. Clocked at 1.3GHz. And the MALI-400 GPU provides support.

To ensure seamless multitasking, and breezy Android experience, the Innjoo Fire comes fitted with a huge 2GB RAM. And a massive 16GB internal storage is there to ensure that all your files are comfortably accommodated.

This seems likely not to be enough memory to accommodate large files. But, its expandability via microSD card makes this compromise pardonable.

The OS might seem a bit backward and the processor lowly. But, the Innjoo Fire is well packed for a budget smartphone.

So, you are sure going to get valued for your money.

Innjoo Fire BATTERY LIFE

The Innjoo Fire is powered by a a decent removable battery with standard capacity of 2300mAh.

This is rather too lowly for a brand seeking to gain bigger followership in a market where mammoth battery capacity is becoming the order of the day. And to make this deficiency unpardonable, the device do not support quick charge. But, there is a power saving mode option.

So, to always be on the safer side, avoid too much multitasking. And ensure to crank down the display brightness when it is not needed. Also, ensure to quickly switch to power saving mode when the battery is getting low.
