This is to inform all candidates who anticipated he commencement of registration for Direct Entry candidates by JAMB that the forms are now available and registration is ongoing. Details of the requirements, cost of form, and how to apply have been provided below in this post.

The JAMB 2024 Direct Entry (DE) registration has begun. The e-PIn vending and registration will end onĀ March 28th, 2024. The costĀ  for the form is N6,700. Candidates are informed that the registration can only be done at the State and Zonal JAMB offices nationwide..

University Degree, University Diploma/NFLD,ND/NID, HND, NCE,Ā IJMB,Ā JUPEB,Ā NABTEB-ANBC,Ā NABTEB-ANTC,Ā NABTEB-GCE-Aā€™LEVELĀ (2015-2021), CambridgeĀ Aā€™level, International Baccalaureate (foreign certificates only), National Registered Nurse/National Registered Midwife (NRN/NRM). AWARDING INSTITUTIONS ARE REQUIRED BY JAMB TO DIRECTLY VERIFY THEIR PRESENTED AWARDS BEFORE ADMISSION COULD BE MADE.

At the point of registration, all DE candidates must provide the following information:

a) Registration/Matriculation Number of the previous school attended where the qualification was obtained

b) Subject(s) of qualification

c) Awarding Institution

d) Institution actually attended

a) DE candidates, who are not awaiting results, must have uploaded theirĀ Aā€™levelĀ qualification,Ā Oā€™levelĀ results and DE Registration Template at the point of registration.

b) DE candidates, will not be processed for admission until such claimed results are uploaded and verified by the awarding institutions on JAMB platform (CAPS MAIL)

(c) DE candidates, who are awaitingĀ Aā€™levelĀ results of UMS/UPER/NABŠ¢Š•Š’, must have uploaded their Admission Letter and Registration Template at the point of registration.

(d) Applicants with Cambridge certificates of pre-2018 examination year should visit Cambridge directly for verification. This verification exercise may take up to 28 days (as specified by the awarding body) after which the verification result will be forwarded to the Board. The verification will be reflected in the e-FacilityĀ prohleĀ of the DE candidate.

(e) Statement of results (in lieu of certificate) is accepted for registration only within 3 years of the date of award. f) Upgrade fromĀ UTMEĀ to DE is available only to candidates, whose DE results have not been released at the point of UTME registration and who must have indicated at the point of registration that he/she is awaitingĀ Aā€™levelĀ results. The particulars of which he/she must have supplied and contained in the uploaded registration template

(f) Candidates are hereby advised to constantly check their Aā€™ level admission status in their e-facility profile, where it will show the status of verification byĀ NIPEDSĀ indicating ā€œCLEAREDā€ or NOT ā€œCLEAREDā€ with the reason(s) for non-clearance due to discrepancies such as in name, grade, subject etc.. which will be explicitly stated.

NOTE:Ā  Candidates are not permitted to register more than once. In the event of any error during the registration process, such candidates are to seek correction from the Board and not to ObtainĀ a fresh application as duplication of application vitiates all the applications.

Eligibility for JAMB Direct Entry

Candidates with one of the following qualiļ¬cations may be considered for admission by Direct Entry:

  • A minimum of Oā€™level credit pass in five (5) SSSC subjects at not more than two sittings with at least two prescribed subjects for each programme (course of study) at the Principal or Advanced level.
  • Two passes [in prescribed subjects for each (programme) course of study] at the Aā€™Level Examination awarded by IJMB, Cambridge, JUPEB or Institute of Baccalaureate with three other credit passes in the SSCE.
  • Credit passes in two major subjects in the NCE with three other credit passes in SSSC, NTC/NBC (mainly for Education /Technical programmes)
  • Minimum of credit grade in University/National Diploma or National Innovation Diploma with the appropriate Oā€™level requirements. All submitted Advanced Level Qualifications are to be verified by a special committee, and any fake result shall attract prosecution.

How to Apply for 2024 JAMB Direct Entry

  • Registration Fee is Three Thousand Five Hundred (N3,500) Naira Additional Five Hundred (N500) Naira Only is paid to obtain the reading text ā€œThe Life Changerā€Ā by Khadija AbubakarĀ and $20 for Candidates from the nine foreign centres
  • Candidates should note that ePINS purchased are tied to individual proļ¬le and are not transferable
  • Candidates are advised to keep as private and conļ¬dential their security details such as registration numbers, password/numbers of ATM Cards, email addresses and ePINs

A. PROFILE REGISTRATION

  1. Every candidate would require the use of a unique phone (mobile) number (SIM) for the process of registration. The unique phone number can be used by one candidate only (Note: This number (SIM) remains your unique identification for all your transactions with the board.
  2. Candidate will send his/her National Identification Number (NIN) by text (SMS) to 55019 or 66019Ā from his/her personal GSM number e.g write the word ā€œNINā€ then space and add your 11 digit NIN Number and send to 55019 or 66019Ā in this format (NIN 00123456789). There should be a space between the word ā€œNINā€ and your 11 digit NIN (Note that the number must not have been used by another person to register for UTME/DE in the past)
  3. A Profile Code of 10 characters is received by the candidate on the same telephone(SIM) number
  4. The phone number used for the text message is automatically tied to the candidateā€™s 2023 application, Examination and Admission. CANDIDATES SHOULD NOTE AND ALWAYS REMEMBER THE SIM NUMBER USED, IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE FOR SUBSEQUENT COMMUNICATION WITH THE BOARD BY OBTAINING UTME/DE APPLICATION DOCUMENTS, A CANDIDATE HAS ACCEPTED TO RECEIVE TEXT MESSAGES FROM JAMB (55019 or 66019) EVEN WHEN THE ā€œDO NOT DISTURBā€ IS ACTIVATED
  5. Candidate presents the profile code to the point of procurement of form (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, USSD Partners). The form- ePIN is then sent as text message to the candidates Phone number
  6. Candidate presents the ePIN at any JAMB accredited CBT Centre for registration
  7. The application cannot be completed until the candidateā€™s biometric (all ten fingers) are captured and photograph taken physically (No submission of passport photograph). Successful capture of biometrics and photograph will authorize a candidate to print his/her e-registration slip. The finger print shall be required for any further transaction with JAMB on the candidatesā€™ profile.
  8. Only candidates whose biometrics verification is successful on examination day will be permitted to sit the UTME. No parent or any proxy is allowed to make any transaction on the candidatesā€™ profile.
  9. Candidates with biometric challenges can only register at JAMB headquarters Abuja

B. SELF HELP IN CASE OF MISTAKE/LOSS OF PROFILE CODE

  1. To retrieve a lost Profile Code, send [RESEND] to 55019 or 66019 as text message from the same mobile number
  2. Candidate can reset lost or forgotten Profile Password on their registered cell phone by sending [password] space [email address] to 55019 as a text message from the same mobile number

(FREE COMPLAINT) TICKETING:Ā 

For ALL complaints on JAMB processes, candidates can create a support ticket at (support.jamb.gov.ng) with his/her email address registered on the Boardā€™s site. The candidate then provides his/her name, phone number and the nature of the issue, select a complaint area on a drop-down and then summarize the nature of the complaint. He/she may also attach supporting documents (if available) then send. Complaints from 3rd parties are merely noted. Letter writing is not encouraged. Rather all complaints should be channelled through the ticketing system for prompt attention and documentation.

For complaints relating to NIN (e.g a candidate sends a message to 55019 or 66019 to create a profile but does not receive any response or receives wrong data, he/she can follow the same process on the ticketing and click on 2023 NIN related issues then select the related topic on the drop-down).

NOTE THAT YOUR PASSWORD SHOULD NOT BE RELEASED TO ANYONE. JAMB CAN ONLY HELP ON PROFILE-PASSWORD, NOT E-MAIL-BOX-PASSWORD. YOU CAN ALSO CHECK YOUR ADMISSION STATUS ON JAMB IBASS APP ON YOUR PHONE. D. DUTIES OF PARTICIPATING BANKS/OUTLETS

  1. Collect the Profile Code from candidateā€™s phone
  2. Collect payment and vend ePIN by SMS to candidateā€™s phone (Not dictating or copying)
  3. Facilitate POS Payment, if necessary
  4. Issue Evidence of Payment
  5. Collect Centre Service Fees, if requested by the CBT Centre
  6. ePIN is to be delivered electronically to candidates and not to be handwritten

    1. Registration fee for candidates from the nine foreign countries is $20 or its equivalent in each of the nine countries local currency
    2. Candidates from the nine foreign countries are to download the Application from the Boardā€™s website (www.jamb.gov.ng) complete and submit it with the fee at the nine designated centres as indicated on the website.

    6. On the menu on the left pane, click on 2023 Foreign UTME/DE registration
    7. Go through guided questions until the payment page
    8. Make payment using any of the authorised cards

F. HOW TO RECOVER LOST ePIN AFTER PAYMENT

  1. If ePIN is not Received or Lost, send [UTMEPIN] or [DEPIN] to 55019 or 66019 for UTME or DE respectively from the unique number
  2. The ePIN would then be retrieved and delivered on the candidateā€™s unique number

AFTER SUCCESSFUL PAYMENT AND OBTAINING ePIN, CANDIDATE SHOULD PROCEED TO ANY OF THE JAMB ACCREDITED CBT CENTRES TO COMPLETE HIS/HER REGISTRATION.Jamb Result

G. REGISTRATION PROCESS AT CBT CENTRES:

The candidate presents the ePIN at any JAMB accredited CBT Centre for completion of registration. The name of the candidate as typed by the candidate on his/her phone when registering the proļ¬le comes up automatically on the input of the e-PIN by the CBT centre

Candidates are to:

  1. Provide Biodata including Date of Birth, Nationality, State of Origin, Local Government, Gender, e-mail address, among others
  2. Provide choice of institutions and programmes (disciplines)
  3. Provide qualiļ¬cation with grades and dates, if not awaiting result
  4. Upload relevant certiļ¬cates, if not awaiting result
  5. O/L and or A/L grades are to be provided by candidates. Candidates who are awaiting results should supply the results online as soon as they are available on JAMBā€™s portal. No recommendations from any Institution will be considered by JAMB if the candidate has not supplied his/her result on the portal of JAMB
  6. Supply JAMB registration number for previous institutional certiļ¬cates for DE only
  7. Provide UTME subjects and choice of examination town(s) for
    • Mock examination (optional)
    • Examination for UTME (actual examination)
  8. Do picture capture (no scanning of passport photograph)
  9. Do Biometric enrolment (ten ļ¬ngers)
  10. Review entries and conļ¬rm correctness
  11. Print Registration Slip USING BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION
  12. Each Candidate is to collect his/her e-slip at the end of registration as evidence of registration
  13. There will be no ofļ¬‚ine registration, as all the accredited CBT centres have been empowered for real-time online registration. No candidate should register at any centre other than the accredited CBT centre and JAMB State-Ofļ¬ces. Any candidate who is registered outside approved centres will be identiļ¬ed and disqualiļ¬ed.

H. GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. All candidates must mandatorily register their proļ¬les through text messages, as illustrated above, before proceeding to buy the ePIN
  2. The registration fee is non-refundable
  3. Candidates are advised to read and understand the guidelines on admission and instructions, as shown on the scan QR Code, on how to complete the online registration before commencing the process of registration. He or she is also to sign an MoU on ethical standards.
  4. Multiple registrations are not permitted. Candidates who register more than once will be identified, disqualified and prosecuted.
  5. Candidates are to note that irrespective of their choice of programme; they will also be tested on a general text: ā€˜The Life Changerā€˜ by Khadija Abubakar Jali. All Candidates are also expected to read the text.
  6. Candidates/Officials would not be allowed to enter the examination centre with earphones, wristwatches, mobile phones, electronic devices, or any pen/biro. Only common pencil is allowed.
  7. Candidates are warned that the Board does not require nor authorise the services of ANY cyber cafƩ, school or establishment other than the accredited CBT centres for this exercise.
  8. Examination malpractice is a criminal offence that attracts, in addition to the cancellation of results, publication of names and prosecution of such oļ¬€enders.
