The Katsina State Police Command has successfully neutralized a suspected kidnapper and gunrunner in a targeted operation conducted on November 11th, 2023. This operation was part of the ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities in the state.JAMB Result

The police encountered fierce resistance from the suspected kidnappers, who opened fire during the operation. The officers, demonstrating courage and tactical skill, managed to repel the attack, forcing the criminals to flee into the surrounding bushes. A subsequent search of the area led to the discovery of the body of a suspected kidnapper, identified as 22-year-old Nazifi Ibrahim from Unguwar Tsamiya village.NYSC Portal
The police also recovered a significant amount of ammunition, including 185 live rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 90 live rounds of 5.56mm M193 type 06 ammunition, and 13 AK-47 magazines, all hidden in a sack.JAMB Portal
Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects who escaped, with the investigation continuing to unfold. CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, the Katsina Police Commissioner, praised the operation’s success, highlighting the exemplary synergy and bravery shown by the operatives. He encouraged further collaboration between the police, local security agencies, and the State Security Watch Corps to enhance security and public safety.
