Lagos Governor at LASU’s 26th convocation, charges Nigerians to embrace student loan law

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Governor has implored Nigerians to embrace the student loan law, saying that it will provide opportunities for children of the poor to realise their dream of acquiring tertiary education. THE GUARDIAN reports.Information Guide Nigeria

Sanwo-Olu, who said this, yesterday, during the 40th anniversary and 26th convocation of Lagos State University (LASU), also announced a personal donation of N5 million and another N5 million on behalf of the state government, for the best-graduating student, Aminat Yusuf Imoitsemeh, who had a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0.
“Attaining 40 years of excellence is a great feat, and I want to congratulate the university for remaining steadfast in its commitment to a high standard of education that has produced highly-skilled men and women over the years, many of whom are being celebrated at home and abroad. I am equally impressed by many achievements of the university,” he said.

The governor commended the university’s management, under Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, for maintaining uninterrupted academic sessions, and aggressively pursuing promotion of rigorous researches and teachings in line with global best standards.NYSC Portal
