The spokesperson of the family, Rasheedat Adedigba said: ‘’We are from a family with two religions- traditional religion and Islam. Our father and mother practiced Islam until our father suddenly joined his siblings, who are idol worshippers while our mother remains a Muslim to date.
‘’According to our mother, our father initially had an understanding before their marriage was consummated that their children would practice Islam, he however, reneged when we were younger and started going to his hometown to participate in traditional festivals and idolatry, leading to their separation as a couple and their subsequent divorce.NYSC portal

‘’Our mother singlehandedly raised us and gave us both western and Islamic education. Surprisingly, about five years ago, our father’s sister broke the news of the death of the olori ebi(head of the family) and alerted our mother to a clandestine plan to force my brother (AbdulWahab) to perform a sacrifice usually carried out by a male child.
‘’Óur father’s family has been forcibly trying to make us practice the traditional religion that comes with performing queer sacrifices. Nigeria is a secular country and my brother (AbdulWahab) has the right to live and practice his chosen religion, but his traducers at various times have viciously tried to abduct and hypnotise him to perform the sacrifice through black magic.
‘’About eight months before he went missing, precisely on January 1, 2022, they(family members) tried to kidnap my brother (AbdulWahab) but they failed. They, however, injured him in the leg and the case was reported to the Nigerian police in Lagos on January 2, 2022, but nothing has come out of the police investigation as we speak.
‘’Again, on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, our mother received a call from one of our father’s siblings warning that AbdulWahab risked fatal consequences if she didn’t release him to perform the sacrifice. AbdulWahab is not safe, hence, we are crying out now because we don’t want to lose him like we lost our uncle who killed himself after he ran off to Ghana when he refused to carry out the same sacrifice.”JAMB Result
