Mark Zuckerberg takes a dig at Apple: Meta CEO says WhatsApp is ‘far more private and secure’ than iMessage

As two of the world’s largest technology companies, it is not surprising that Apple and Meta have been rivals for a long time.Infomation Guide Nigeria

Nonetheless, tensions between the companies look to be at an all-time high, with Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, launching a new attack on Apple this week.

Zuckerberg, whose firm owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, uploaded a photo of WhatsApp’s latest ad campaign to his Instagram account yesterday, saying that WhatsApp is “considerably more private and secure” than iMessage.

The entrance to Pennsylvania Station in New York is adorned with WhatsApp’s latest advertisement.

It displays a green bubble and a blue bubble, similar to Apple’s iMessage programme, above a WhatsApp speech bubble labelled ‘private bubble’.

Simply, the motto reads, “Protect your personal messages across devices with end-to-end encryption.” Always send private messages.

Last night, Zuckerberg uploaded an image of the advertisement to Instagram.

‘WhatsApp is far more private and secure than iMessage, with end-to-end encryption that works across both iPhones and Android, including group chats,’ he wrote.

Other Top Stories:

‘With WhatsApp you can also set all new chats to disappear with the tap of a button.

‘And last year we introduced end-to-end encrypted backups too. All of which iMessage still doesn’t have.’

Most recently, Cook told Dutch publication, Bright, that most consumers can’t even define what the metaverse is and was dismissive of the notion that they’d spend their entire lives inside a virtual world.

‘I always think it’s important that people understand what something is,‘ he said. ‘And I’m not really sure the average person can tell you what the metaverse is.’

Cook also expressed skepticism that people will want to spend extended periods of time in VR in the future.

‘[VR is] something you can really immerse yourself in. And that can be used in a good way. But I don’t think you want to live your whole life that way,’ he told Bright.Jamb Result

‘VR is for set periods, but not a way to communicate well.
