Mohbad: Employ lawyer to avoid irreparable loss – Effiong advises upcoming artists

Inibehe Effiong, a public interest and human rights lawyer, has recommended aspiring artists to have and retain a lawyer as a vital component of their work.

Effiong believes that anyone in the entertainment or any other business who do not have a lawyer are taking a significant risk that could result in irreparable loss.InformationGuideNigeria

He stated this in a post on his verified social media platform X, on Thursday.

The announcement follows the death of Nigerian singer and rapper Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, better known as Mohbad.

Mohbad was laid to rest in Ikorodu, Lagos State.NYSC Portal

Aside from the debate surrounding the reason of his death, films have emerged showing distant relatives of the deceased attempting to steal the late singers belongings from his wife, Omowunmi.

In a viral video, an older man, purportedly a family member, is heard stating the singer’s wife should not be trusted.

Effiong, on the other hand, believes that upcoming artists should hire and keep a lawyer as part of their professional development.

He wrote, “As an upcoming artist, you should have and retain a lawyer as an integral part of your career.

“If you’re into entertainment or any business for that matter, and you do not have a lawyer, you’re taking a huge risk that may cost you irreparable loss.

“This advice has saved lives.”
