The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) is set to initiate night operations before the second quarter of 2024, as revealed by the Managing Director, Fidet Okhiria, in a recent interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
This development is part of the NRC’s efforts to expand and enhance railway services in the country.
However, Okhiria pointed out that a significant challenge to the commencement of these night operations is the current state of insecurity. He stated that, “what is limiting us is the night operations, and that is not the way trains should operate. The train is meant to operate at all times. People may like to travel in the evening, but because of the security situation in the country, we limit ourselves to the daytime.NYSC Portal
