This is to inform interested applicants that the management of the above-named institution has begun the sale of forms for admission into the diploma programme for 2022/2023 session. Interested candidates should see details of the admission requirements and method of application below.

The Diploma programme of the Department of Local Government and Development Studies, Faculty of Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife serves as a training programme for Local Government staff funded by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

It also serves as a preliminary programme for interested candidates who wish to pursue sub-degree programme in Local Government and Development Studies. After completion of the programme, successful candidates with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 and above qualifies for Direct Entry (DE) admission into 200-level B.Sc. degree programme in the following Departments at OAU namely: Local Government and Development Studies, Public Administration, Political Science as well as Institute of Entrepreneurship and Development Studies. B. MODE OF APPLICATION: Candidates who wish to apply for the 2022/2023 Diploma programme screening exercise are required to go through the following processes: Download the application form from https://eportal.oauife.edu.ng and fill as appropriate;

Apply for Diploma in Local Govt. & Devt. Std.Pay the application fees of $10,000 only via https://remita.net as follows:

  • Select “Bill & Purchase” on https://remita.net, “Pay Billers”.
  • Type Obafemi Awolowo University for “Who do you want to pay”.
  • For “Name of service/purpose”, select “Local Government Form & Fees”.
  • Enter 1000072192 for “GIFMIS Code”.
  • For “Description”, enter “Diploma in Local Govt Application”.
  • Provide other necessary details such as “name”, “phone” and “email” as required.
  • Send the printout from RRR as an attached file to: diplomalgds@oauife.edu.ng in addition to the scanned copies of supporting certificates and filled application form to receive the screening passcode

NOTE: The date of the screening exercise will be communicated via contact GSM and email supplied in due course. All enquiries should be forwarded to diplomalgds@oauife.edu.ng
