
Hours before the start of the election campaigns, the candidate of the Labour party, Peter Obi, and the African Democratic Congress, Dumebi Kachikwu, both ruled out any discussions of forming an alliance.
On “Politics Today” on Channels TV, Kachikwu described Obi as a member of the previous political establishment with nothing to offer Nigerians and who was solely interested in advancing his or her own interests.

Speaking further, the presidential candidate noted that an alliance would be formed based on values adding that background conversations were ongoing with the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Adewole Adebayo and Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress.
“For someone like the presidential candidate of SDP or Omoyele Sowore, will we consider working together? Absolutely.
“It is possible we form an alliance with the likes of SDP and AAC. We are having background conversation to ensure we are heard and seen,” He said.
