They are more likely to be able to afford a permanent deal by summer, at which point Greenwood’s loan with Getafe will be over. He is expected to leave the club permanently and has previously been linked with a move to Barcelona.JAMB Result
Greenwood will have 12 months remaining on his United contract by summer, meaning the club will bring in a fee for their striker. As a boyhood academy graduate, any money will represent pure profit in the books which is a positive for profitability and sustainability rules.
Incoming investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe is hoping to raise a significant amount from such sales, with options to buy on loan deals for Hannibal Mejbri and Alvaro Fernandez – who joined Sevilla and Benfica respectively. Scott McTominay has also been linked with a move away this summer despite enjoying a strong season under Erik ten Hag.
