Ondo: Kidnappers of Chief Imam demand N10 million ransom

The abductors of the Chief Imam of the Uso community in Owo Local Council Area of Ondo State, Alhaji Ibrahim Oyinlade, have demanded N10 million ransom before releasing the Islamic cleric. THE GUARDIAN reports

The kidnappers were said to have contacted the family on Sunday evening after 24 hours after Alhaji Oyinlade’s abduction.

The Chief Imam was kidnapped on Saturday on his farm at Asolo Camp within the community, where his abductor trailed him before attacking him.Information Guide Nigeria

The cleric was working on his farm when the kidnappers s struck and took him away to the forest around the community.

The source, who craved anonymity, disclosed that after making the demand, the abductors did not allow any negotiation to be made before hanging up the phone.

“They contacted the family on Sunday and demanded N10 million. That was the last conversation they had with the family.”

The state police public relations officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, who confirmed the incident, said the men of the command and the vigilante men were already in the bush in search of the victim.

“The DPO (of Uso Police Division) and his men with local vigilantes are still in the bush to trace the whereabouts of the man (victim).”NYSC Portal
