Osun undergraduate commits suicide, police begin probe

Victor Olonade, a 19-year-old undergraduate, was said to have committed himself at his father’s house in the state’s Ilesa region. The Osun State Police Command has started an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death.Information Guide Nigeria

According to a statement released on Sunday by the state police public relations officer, Yemisi Opalola, the teenager’s lifeless body was discovered hanging in one of the rooms of his father’s residence on Saturday.

The police were informed when the body was discovered, according to Opalola, who also added that police officers assigned to the scene of the incident recovered the body.

The statement read in part, “Around 2.30pm on Saturday, one Agboola Olusola of 049 Isokun Street, Ilesa, reported at Ilesa ‘A’ Division that Victor Olonade, 19, a student of Ipetu Ijesa College of Technology, Osun State, was found dead by hanging in a compound with telephone cable.JAMB Result

“Scene of the crime was visited and no mark of violence was found on the body. The corpse was deposited at the Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa. The case is still under investigation.”
