Police arrest fake doctor for injecting pregnant teenager to death

A 24-year-old man named Chidera Ugwu in Kano State has been apprehended by the police for allegedly posing as a medical doctor and performing illegal abortions.

This arrest was disclosed in a statement issued to DAILY POST by the spokesperson of the Kano State Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.JAMB Result

The statement highlighted the operation that led to Ugwu’s arrest, marking a big step in addressing illegal medical practices in the state. The accused, Chidera Ugwu, is alleged to have specialized in terminating unwanted pregnancies, an act that is not only illegal but also poses significant health risks to those involved.

According to him, on 20/12/2023 at about 1030hrs, the police received complaint from one Nura Balarabe of Tofa LGA Kano that one Ukasha Muhammed of Langel Village Tofa LGA Kano impregnated his 19-year-old sister and conspired with Chidera Ugwu and injected her to death.”InformationGuideNigeria

He said the suspects administered injections and drugs to the girl with intent to cause miscarriage which resulted in her death.NYSC Portal

“Investigations revealed that the said Chidera Ugwu is a fake doctor and has allegedly been administering fatal injections to pregnant women, leading to tragic consequences,” he added.
