Pregnant policewoman arrested over maid’s death

A Deputy Superintendent of Police assigned to the Oyo State Police Command, Omolola Omolabi, has been detained in relation to the death of her 14-year-old maid, Tomiwa Ajayi.Information Guide Nigeria

PUNCH Metro stated that Yemisi Jimoh, a citizen of Benin, had accused Omolabi of murdering her daughter, Ajayi.

Jimoh, a resident of the state of Ogun, had previously been married to the victim.

Kehinde Ojo, the wife of the woman’s younger brother, was reportedly given the woman’s daughter.

Ojo, a seamstress, allegedly escorted Ajayi to Omolabi’s residence in the General Gas neighborhood of Ibadan, Oyo State.NYSC portal

According to reports, the policewoman agreed to pay for the youngster to learn a trade while she worked for her as a maid.

The mother of the child stated that she agreed to the arrangement after the officer assured her that he would take care of her daughter.JAMB portal

However, Jimoh stated that the 14-year-scarred old’s body was returned fewer than ten months after she left their home alive.

The policewoman denied involvement in the child’s death in a phone conversation with our journalist on Friday.

She said, “I don’t know anything about this matter and the death of Tomiwa (Ajayi). I am pregnant with a baby, why will I want to kill her?JAMB Result

“The hospital records are there to show that we took her (Tomiwa) for medical care before she gave up.

“I don’t want my name soiled. Already, I know I have lost my job with the Nigeria Police over this matter. I pray that Tomiwa’s family will see my efforts in this area and know I did not kill their child.
