Abejide who spoke while picking the governorship form of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja said there was insecurity in the state because the local government system has completely collapsed, assuring that as governor, the local government will function optimally as a full-tier of government.

Abejide described the last general election as free, fair, and credible, saying the ADC was able to win two federal constituencies because the election was credible.
He expressed confidence that the ADC will sweep the governorship election in the state come November the same way the Labour Party swept the poll in the southeast.
Speaking on insecurity in the state, Abejide said “Insecurity is prevalent in the state because the local government system has collapsed. When I become governor, I will revive the local government system in the state so that those at the grass root will feel the impact of governance.”JAMB Result
