Reason I want to be Kogi governor – ADC aspirant

The member representing Yagba Federal Constituency of Kogi state and Chairman of the House Committee on Customs and Excise, Leke Abejide has said that the level of insecurity in Kogi state will be a thing of the past if he is elected governor of the state. Abejide who spoke while picking the governorship form of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja said there was insecurity in the state because the local government system has completely collapsed, assuring that as governor, the local government will function optimally as a full-tier of government.

He also promised free education for primary and secondary school students in the state, a programme he has been implementing in Yagba Federal Constituency in the last five years.NYSC Portal

Abejide who expressed confidence in the ability of the Independent National Electoral Commission to conduct a free, fair, and credible election challenged all those complaining that the last general elections was rigged to produce their polling unit by polling unit result to back their claim or remain quiet.

Abejide described the last general election as free, fair, and credible, saying the ADC was able to win two federal constituencies because the election was credible.

He expressed confidence that the ADC will sweep the governorship election in the state come November the same way the Labour Party swept the poll in the southeast.

Speaking on insecurity in the state, Abejide said “Insecurity is prevalent in the state because the local government system has collapsed. When I become governor, I will revive the local government system in the state so that those at the grass root will feel the impact of governance.”JAMB Result
