Reason our anti-graft foundations should be reinforced – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said successive administrations after his need to sustain and reinforce the anti-corruption mechanisms his administration has put in place. THE NATION reports.

In a statement on Thursday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said the President spoke yesterday at the State House in Abuja while hosting the management of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), led by its Chairman, Danladi Yakubu Umar.Information Guide Nigeria

The President described the CCT as “an important tool in our fight against corruption over the last seven years”.

He stressed that such frontline agencies, “which are in the trenches, are relied upon to demonstrate that the government means what it says and remains committed against corruption in all its forms”.NYSC Portal

President Buhari expressed his desire for a sustained anti-graft war, saying: “It is our hope that the foundation, which has been laid by this administration, will be carried forward and continued, as the issue of corruption remains an existential threat to all nations.

The President acknowledged the sacrifices the Code of Conduct Tribunal and similar agencies have made “in the midst of very challenging economic and revenue shortages”.

He vowed innovative and new models of financing important agencies and work programmes that are critical to the country.

Umar praised the Buhari administration for the salutary impact it has made in infrastructural development, agriculture, and provision of social services, among others.JAMB Result
