Rema, Asake, others win big at 2023 Headies Awards [Full List]

The 16th Headies Awards were held on Sunday at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre amid pomp and splendour.

The event, dubbed “Celebrating African Renaissance,” was presented by Osas Ighodaro, a Nollywood actress, and Terrence J, an American media celebrity.JAMB Result

With thrilling performances, Odumodublvck, Young Jonn, Wande Coal, Kcee, Black Sherif, Asake, and others wowed the audience.

Rema was named Best Male Artiste of the Year, while Asake received a brand new automobile after winning the highly sought Next Rated category.

Similarly, Odumodublvck was awarded a mansion in Lagos after being selected Rookie of the Year.

After much back and forth on social media, neither Blaqbonez nor TG Omori received the prize for Best Music Video of the Year; Director K took the honour.

Blaqbonez maintained during his acceptance speech for finest Rap Album of the Year for ‘The Young Preacher’ that “TG Omori and I are still the best directors.”

However, co-host Osas Ighodaro revealed midway through the presentation that the ceremony had come to a conclusion, with roughly 13 categories still to be presented.NYSC Portal

Best Female Artiste, Best Recording of The Year, Songwriter of The Year, Best RnB Single, Best Vocal Performance (Female), Headies Viewers’ Choice, Best East African Artiste of The Year, and Best North African Artiste of The Year were among the categories that were not presented at the ceremony.

Other categories include Best Southern African Artiste of the Year, Best Central African Artiste of the Year, Best International Artiste of the Year, Best Alternative Album, and Best R&B Album.

The winners of the categories that were not presented via social media were eventually announced, with Ayra Starr receiving Best Female Artiste, Victony winning Best Recording of the Year, and Chike’s ‘The Brother’s Keeper’ winning Best R&B Album of the Year.

With the announcement of the remaining category winners, Burna Boy has now tied Rema for the most victories (three apiece).
