SDP’s Kogi State Candidate Murtala Yakubu Ajaka Denies Stepping Down from Governorship Race

The Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) governorship candidate for Kogi State, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka (Muri), has refuted rumors that he is withdrawing from the upcoming election. This response comes in light of a letter suggesting his withdrawal, which surfaced online on November 3, 2023.NYSC Portal

In a rebuttal, the Director General of the New Media MuriSam Campaign Council, Isaiah Davies Ijele, branded the letter as “false and baseless.” He attributed the misleading information to the antics of “miscreants” and labeled it as a desperate move by the currently reigning party in Kogi State.InformationGuideNigeria

Ijele reiterated that Ajaka remains a strong contender and “the candidate of the people.” He emphasized that Ajaka is not considering stepping down for any candidate at this crucial juncture.

Furthermore, he leveled accusations against the ruling party, claiming that they are attempting to sow discord between the SDP and the ADC. He stated that the citizens of Kogi are discontented with the ruling party due to alleged mismanagement over the past seven and a half years.JAMB Portal

The statement reads, “The fake letter of withdrawal began circulating online on November 3, 2023. The letter claimed that Ajaka had withdrawn from the race and endorsed the APC candidate, Yahaya Bello. The letter was purportedly signed by Ijele and Unekwu, which are lies from the pit of hell.”
