Soludo shuts school, fires teacher over exam malpractices

Anambra Governor Chukwua Soludo has closed down Tower Primary School Oba over alleged involvement in examination malpractices during the 2023 Transition Placement Examination. THE NATION reports.

The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh announced the school’s closure after a meeting to investigate a case of exam misconduct reported against a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) teacher, Precious Chibuzo, who invigilated the exam at the Umuogali Community Primary School, Oba.JAMB Result

According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Nnaemeka Egwuonwu, an investigation carried out by the Ministry following reports from pupils of Triumphant Cross School Oba, revealed that the Proprietress of the Tower Academy Oba, Kosisochukwu Igwe connived with the students in the misconduct.

“The proprietress sneaked into the examination hall, connived with the PTA teacher, took a photograph of the question paper, solved questions, and supplied answers to the candidates.Information Guide Nigeria

“The Proprietress, Kosisochukwu Igwe, who admitted committing the offense,  pleaded for forgiveness, while the PTA teacher, Chibuzo Precious, who had earlier admitted committing the offense has been dismissed from the School.
