Tinubu clears Super Eagles allowance arrears

President Bola Tinubu has taken a major step in resolving a crucial financial issue by settling the N12 billion debt owed to the Super Eagles and other national sports teams.NYSC Portal

This significant move, announced on Sunday, encompasses the payment of 15 months of outstanding salaries for coaches of the senior national teams, as well as allowances and financial commitments to various teams, including women’s teams and the Under-20 national team.JAMB Portal

This action by President Tinubu is an effort to positively impact the morale and performance of the teams, reaffirming the government’s commitment to sports development.

The statement reads, “President @officialABAT has approved the payment of N12 billion outstanding backlog for Nigeria’s National teams of various sports, which includes Super Eagles and others. The payment entails the clearing of the senior national team coach salaries running up to 15 months, payments of allowances and promises due to the senior national teams, females, and Under-20 national team.”JAMB Result

Additionally, Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa shed light on the players’ financial situation, stating, “Regarding the bonus, I think they are just owing us for two games now. Yeah, two games. There is no other outstanding outside these two games.”
