A severe road accident in the Hawan-Kibo community within the Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State has led to the tragic death of 12 people, while 30 others sustained injuries. According to eyewitness accounts, the vehicle was descending a hill on a dilapidated road when it lost control and crashed into a ditch. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to spill its contents, including the passengers, into the ditch, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.NYSC Portal
The incident, which occurred as the trailer was exiting Jos, has been confirmed by Mr. Godwin Alphonsus, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Plateau State, in a statement to PUNCH Online.

He said, “It was a lone crash. The trailer was carrying bags of grains and human beings. It had a brake failure and crashed into a ditch while ascending a hill. The accident happened in the afternoon on Thursday.NYSC Portal
“Since then, our men in Hawan-Kibo have been trying to rescue the victims. From the records so far, 11 persons died on the spot while 30 persons have been rescued and taken to the hospital.informationguidenigeria
