Why I Chose My Deputy To Succeed Me – Gov. Ganduje
The Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje has explained why he endorsed his Deputy Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, as gubernatorial candidate and his former Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Murtala Sule Garo, as a running mate. THE PUNCH reports.
Ganduje made the clarification at a stakeholders meeting of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state, held at the Government House, Kano, Tuesday night. Information Guide Nigeria

This was contained in a statement presented by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar, a copy of which was made issued to journalists on Wednesday.
“As governor produced a Deputy to become governor. This time around, my Deputy Alhaji Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna is our choice for the gubernatorial seat come 2023 general election. So also he will contest with Murtala Sule Garo as his running mate.” jamb results
Ganduje described Gawuna as a complete gentleman who knows what is right and what is wrong. “A person who is reliable and very loyal.”
“As a Deputy Governor, Ganduje said “He makes good use of his office and is a very loyal lieutenant. Who is very loyal and dependable.”
For Garo, the governor said, “He is a real Commander, who is loyal and committed to our cause. This is a very fearless confidant. If you want to get a clear and clean political fight, you need somebody who is energetic, loyal, and fearless. This is Murtala Sule Garo for you.”
