Authorities in Qatar announced on Wednesday that they had confiscated 144 counterfeit World Cup trophies, the latest raid on the market ahead of the football tournament, which begins later this month.

It issued a photo of the 144 life-sized trophies spread across a floor and stated that “further legal procedures will be followed.”

The government did not indicate where the trophies were discovered or whether any suspects had been apprehended.
