2024 UTME: JAMB accredits 747 CBT centres, registration begins today

The Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has announced that registration for the 2024/2025 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) will commence on Monday and end on February 24, 2024. The registration process has been rolled out for interested candidates across the country.NYSC Portal

JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, shared that measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth registration exercise. He mentioned that prior to registration, the Board conducts accreditation exercises to assess the suitability of each Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre for the examination.JAMB Result

The registration procedure includes candidates creating a profile through the National Identity Number at various CBT centers nationwide. Candidates can generate their profiles using JAMB USS codes 55019 or 66019. Oloyede emphasized that only one sort code is allowed to avoid multiple charges, and this is compulsory for candidates to thumbprint and complete the registration.

The registration fee for the 2024 UTME is N3,500, and it will be a cashless payment to prevent extortion.

JAMB has accredited 747 CBT centers for the 2024 UTME, an increase of 134 centers compared to the previous year. Lagos has the highest number of accredited centers with 80, followed by Ogun with 44, and Oyo with 42 centers. In contrast, states like Zamfara have the lowest number of accredited centers with 6, while both Ebonyi and Kebbi have 8 centers each.informationguidenigeria

The South-West geopolitical zone has the highest number of CBT centers, with 226 centers, while the North-East has the lowest with 67 centers.
