Oyo warns against discrimination in gaming industry

Operators in the gaming and lottery industries have been admonished by the Oyo State Government to stop discriminating against people based on their gender, handicap, class, or race.Jamb Result

According to the State Government, unfair practices have kept the sector’s inequality gap widening.

This was said at an interactive stakeholders’ forum of the Oyo State Gaming Board in Ibadan by Olubamiwo Adeosun, Secretary to the State Government, speaking in place of Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State.

According to her, boosting inclusivity in the sector will lead to the creation of more jobs and help the state’s economy thrive.

“The lack of diversity we can see in this sector is due to active or passive prejudice but there are also barriers to employment of certain groups which is because there hasn’t been a level-playing ground in the past.

“We are aware that it is not enough to create a levelplaying field but people who are different should have the same opportunities and activities that are accessible to all others.”
