Who or What is Airtel?

Airtel is one of the topmost communication networks in Nigeria. The prestigious communications company offer telecommunication services and internet services.

Our focus is on the internet services that Airtel offers. Airtel has a very wide range of internet packages. These packages are designed for android phones, blackberry phones, iPhones and laptop users.

We must also note that each of these internet data plans have their subscription codes. With these subscription codes, an Airtel subscriber is able to subscribe to any of these internet data services.

Therefore, below is a quick review of Airtel data plans, bundles and prices in Nigeria.

 It is worthy of note that the codes stated below are subject to change by the Airtel company. As such, we will keep updating this review as changes are made.

A Recent Update

Airtel recently launched the “Unlimited Data Plans” which is very different from their normal data plans. This plan offers unlimited internet aceess. With as low as N10,000, N15,000 and N20,000, you can get 30 days (one month) of unlimited internet access.

a. N10,000 Unlimited plan gives you 40GB of internet access. Also,

b. N15,000 Unlimited plan gives you 65GB of internet access. Then the

c. N20,000 Unlimited plan gives you 100GB of internet access

These data plans are usually subscribed to by companies and big organizations. Also note that this data plans are designed to expire in 30 days.

The data balance can be checked by using the following code: *140# or *410#.

Point to note: Each one of these Unlimited packages come with ‘Fair Usage Policy’. What this means is that your internet speed will be automatically reduced to 256kbps (256 kilobytes per second). This happens once you exceed a certain data limit.

Now, you may be wondering if the above packages are all there is. No! There is more… The following data packages are more price-friendly. As such, they are quite affordable for most people.

a. 50MB for N100: You can get 50MB of internet access with N100 subscription. This subscription is valid for 24 hours only. Dial *410# to activate this subscription.

b. 200MB for N200: You can get 100MB of internet access with N200 subscription. This subscription is valid for 3 days only. Dial *420# to activate this subscription.

c. 350MB for N300: You can get 350MB of internet access with N300 subscription. This subscription is valid for 7 days (one week) only. Dial *417# to activate this subscription.

d. 750MB for N500: You can get 500MB of internet access with N500 subscription. This subscription is valid for 14 days (2 weeks) only. Dial *418# to activate this subscription.

e. 200MB for N200: You can get 100MB of internet access with N200 subscription. This subscription is valid for 3 days only. Dial *420# to activate this subscription.

f. 5GB for N1,000: You can get 1.5GB of internet access with N1,000 subscription. This subscription is valid for 30 days (month) only. Dial *496# to activate this subscription.

g. 5GB for N2,000: You can get 3.5GB of internet access with N2,000 subscription. This subscription is valid for 30 days (month) only. Dial *437# to activate this subscription.

h. 5GB for N2,500: You can get 5GB of internet access with N2,500 subscription. This subscription is valid for 30 days (month) only. Dial *438*1# to activate this subscription.

i. 7GB for N3,500: You can get 7GB of internet access with N3,500 subscription. This subscription is valid for 30 days (month) only. Dial *438# to activate this subscription.

j. 9GB for N4,000: You can get 9GB of internet access with N4,000 subscription. This subscription is valid for 30 days (month) only. Dial *438*1# to activate this subscription.

Airtel Social Plans

Airtel social data plans are internet data packages that were designed strictly for social media use. Social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, 2go, Twitter, Imo, InstaGram, Skype, Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, Telegram, Opera Mini, etc.

Therefore, the social plans listed here below are strictly for communicating on social media.

a. Airtel WhatsApp plan – N200 for 30 days. Dial *990# to subscribe to this service.

b. Airtel OperaMini plan – N300 for 250MB. This subscription is designed to last for 30 days (one month).

Airtel Night Plans (Weekend/Time-based)

Airtel Night Plans are plans that are only active during the night. The active hours of the Night Plans are between 12am and 5am.

You can take full advantage of the following Airtel Night Plans/Weekend Data Bundles if you’re someone that is more productive at night.

a. Time Based – Get 30 minutes of unlimited internet access for N Dial *439*3# to get subscribed.

b. Time Based – Get 60 minutes of unlimited internet access for N Dial *439*4# to get subscribed.

c. Night – 3 hours of unlimited internet access for N1,000. Dial *481*2#. This subscription is usable between 12am and 5:59am.
