Atiku, Ayu donate N40m to injured Plateau supporters

The Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, paid a condolence visit to Jonah Jang, the former Governor of Plateau State, on Sunday at his Du country home in Jos, following Saturday’s accident that killed 16 party supporters and injured 83 others.Information Guide Nigeria

The party supporters, largely young boys, were claimed to be on their way back from the party’s zonal rally in Pankshin LGA when their truck collapsed along a bridge in Panyam village, Mangu LGA of the state.

In his condolence statement, Atiku termed the party supporters’ deaths as “wrenching,” adding that their efforts would not be in vain.JAMB portal

“For us,the loss is a very painful one for the lives of the young ones to be cut short at their prime.

The former Vice President commended Senator Jang for the leadership of the PDP in Plateau and assured him, “Nobody makes sacrifices without the sacrifice being acknowledged and appreciated.”NYSC portal

Atiku also announced a monetary donation of N30 million to help accident victims who are still being treated at various hospitals across the state.

Ayu also condoled with the PDP family in the state and the people of Plateau State over the tragic tragedy, pleading with God to give them the strength to endure the irreparable loss.

Ayu also made a N10 million payment to the accident victims on behalf of the national PDP, saying that their sacrifices will not be in vain.

He assured that they would continue to work hard not just for the PDP, but for the country “to rebuild the country with greater facilities that such a thing will not happen again.”JAMB Result
