Be ready to declare assets at the end of tenure, CCB tells politicians

All outgoing elected and appointed political office holders currently serving in Kano state have been asked to be ready to declare their assets at the expiration of their tenure by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

This was contained in a statement signed by the CCB state Director, Mr. Umar Saulawa and made available to newsmen in Kano on Saturday.

According to a report from the Vanguard, Saulawa has said that there was a need for the affected political office holders to declare their assets in line with the provision of the 1999 constitution as amended.  “We want to remind all the outgoing elected and appointed political office holders in the state to come forward to the Bureau’s office to collect their assets declaration form,” he said.

The report said, failure to comply with the directive amounts to the breach of the law and attracts necessary sanctions against defaulting public officers.
