Boy Drowns In Abuja Stadium Swimming Pool

A 13-year-old boy, Matthew Godwin, has been drowned in the swimming pool of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja. DAILY TRUST reports. The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, during the festive period.

Consequently, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development on Thursday announced an immediate shutdown of the facility till further notice. Information Guide Nigeria

“All activities within the pool area are therefore suspended till further notice.

“The Ministry has ordered a full-scale investigation into the immediate and remote causes of the incident and the activities that led to it in a bid to forestall a future recurrence,” the statement added.
