The Federal Capital Territory High Court has directed the immediate and unconditional release of Godwin Emefiele, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Justice O.A. Adeniyi granted the order in response to an ex-parte motion brought forward by Emefiele.
Emefiele had approached the court, requesting his release from the detention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) until the primary motion is thoroughly heard and decided upon.JAMB Result

Upon reviewing the ex-parte motion, Justice Adeniyi ordered the EFCC to release Emefiele without any conditions attached. In his motion, Emefiele had listed several respondents, including the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, and the EFCC.InformationGuideNigeria
In the court’s directive, it specifically instructed the 3rd and 4th respondents, the Executive Chairman and the EFCC, to release Emefiele immediately.NYSC Portal
If they fail to do so, they must ensure Emefiele is presented in court on the scheduled hearing date. There, the possibility of him being granted bail by the court will be determined.
