
A High Court in Benin has remanded Aipoh John to the Oko Custody Centre for the alleged murder of Precious Ikpikhumi in Benin City, Edo State.Information Guide Nigeria
The defendant was indicted on one count of first-degree murder, punishable under Section 319 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap. 48, Vol. II, Law of the Former Bendel State of Nigeria from 1976, as applicable to Edo State.

The defendant is said to have attacked the woman while she was on her way to church, dragged her to an unfinished structure where he reportedly murdered her and abandoned her body, and then fled the scene.
The defendant entered a not-guilty plea to the accusation, while his attorney asked a date to prepare the defense.
However, the sitting court, Justice M. Isuele, remanded the accused and delayed the case to January 18, 2023.
