10 Effects of High Cooking Gas Price in Nigeria

1. Hardship

The high price of cooking gas in Nigeria has thrown many Nigerians into hardship. The cry is now everywhere. Many people can no longer cook the food they eat.

Hardship in Nigeria now is compounded. The poor had been suffering from hunger. Many people do not have food to eat. Those who had food to eat have now joined the bandwagon. They have the food to eat but no source of cooking it. This is good for Nigerians who cannot read the handwriting on the wall.

Nigerians wanted a change. The change has come. This is the first time that Nigerian leaders are receiving hardship allowance. Without hardship in Nigeria, how will they be paid their hardship allowance?

They create hardship for Nigerians for them to receive an allowance upon Nigerians. The masses suffer the hardship but the leaders receive the allowance.Effects of High Cooking Gas Price

To compound the hardship resulting from the high price of cooking gas, the federal government reintroduced Value-Added Tax (VAT) and devalued the naira at the same time. We voted for this change for hardship.

2. Self-reliance

Self-reliance is our policy. Things happening in Nigeria should teach Nigerians to rely on themselves. They should learn how to live above certain problems.

Another effect of the high price of cooking gas is driving Nigerians to alternatives. These alternatives, no doubt, have their health conditions.

Smoke is dangerous to human health. World Health Organisation (WHO) investigated the death of some women in Nigeria. They found that some of them died from the effects of smoke.

Yet, olden day’s people cooked with firewood and lived above hundred years. Now a day’s people are cooking with cooking gas and living for only about sixty years. Death is death whether smoke or another thing causes it. No one will live forever.

Cooking gas also kills when it is wrongly used. Therefore, Nigerians can adopt the alternatives without the fear of death.WAEC result

9. Renewable Energies

Necessity is the mother of invention. One effect of the high price of cooking gas in Nigeria is that it will make them venture into other aspects of life. Renewable energies are areas of energy sources that are not prevalent in Nigeria.

Solar energy, for example, is an energy source that many Nigerians are yet to take advantage of. Solar energy is energy from the sun. The heat from sun rays can be converted into electricity. Its electrical power can do whatever ordinary electricity can do. Good enough, it is free from God. You do not pay electricity bills to anybody. All that you need is to set up your system and you are good to go.

There are solar cookers available in the markets. These cookers can cook anything cookable. They are by far cheaper than gas cookers.

Solar energy can be used for heating the room. Wherever heat is required, solar energy can do the magic.

As for drying, solar energy can be used for drying. For those who will like to dry their fish and meat, solar energy is there for them twenty-four hours. This is so because it can be stored. Store the energy during the day and use it at night.

Therefore, there is no need to make so much ado about the high price of cooking gas.

Solar energy is renewable energy. It is not exhausted. It is there forever. When your system runs down, expose it to the sun and you refill it. You do not pay money to those who refill as you do in the case of cooking gas.

Thus, instead of Nigerians continuing to suffer because of the high price of cooking gas, they can go for the solar system.

Another renewable energy that Nigerians can venture into because of the high price of cooking gas is nuclear energy. Science and Technology have made it possible that electricity can be generated from the nucleus of atoms. The electricity so generated can be used for anything. Again, it is free forever. It is God’s goodness to man.

There is yet another renewable energy source that Nigerians can leave cooking gas for. It is wind energy. The wind can be made to turn turbines for the generation of electricity. The electricity so generated can be used for cooking and other things.

One good thing about these renewable energies is that they do not pose any health hazards. They are very safe for use. Therefore, those who are afraid of death or any health condition that may result from the use of firewood can go for any of the renewable energies.

Thus, Nigerians can become self-reliant. They can leave all those who are responsible for the high price of cooking gas alone and still live better lives.JAMB form

10. Federal Government

The high cooking gas price in Nigeria is an indication that the type of government that we have does not care for the masses. The government creates a hardship for its citizens so that it can claim hardship allowance from them.

The citizens are the ones suffering but the government is the one that is being paid. The high price of cooking gas is enough for Nigerians to know how to scrutinize those who will come out for leadership positions. They will now learn how to vote for those who will alleviate their suffering. They will now learn not to vote for those who will make them suffer the more.JAMB Result

Conclusion

The bottom line is that the hardship created by others should bring you better results. When one door is closing against you, do not gaze at it. Look away from it so that you can see the better one that is opening for you.
