Emulate Facebook, stop spread of fake news

The Federal Government of Nigeria has commended the owners of social media platforms, which include Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.Information Guide Nigeria
THE GUARDIAN reports that the government commended these platforms for their commitment to checking the spread of fake news and disinformation ahead of Nigeria’s 2023 elections.
The President Muhammadu Buhari Administration who spoke at the 12th edition of the ministerial scorecard presentation on Wednesday in Abuja insisted that increasing resort to fake news and disinformation by some political actors and a section of the media constitutes a present danger to the success of the election.

The President was represented by the Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed at 12th edition of the ministerial scorecard.
