European Commission staff are banned from using TikTok

The European Commission, the governing body of the European Union, has prohibited its employees from accessing TikTok on their smartphones and company devices.Information Guide Nigeria

The decision was made to “protect data and increase cybersecurity.” This comes amid mounting security worries regarding the Chinese startup ByteDance’s TikTok.

The regulation applies to the commission’s 32,000 permanent and contract employees, who have been instructed to delete the app by March 15 at the latest. TikTok cannot be downloaded on personal devices owned by staff members that contain official apps. Individuals who do not remove TikTok from their personal devices will be unable to access corporate programs like Skype for Business.NYSC Portal
