Born on the 10th of March 1936 in Minna, Niger State, Ibrahim attended Barewa College, Zaria, and later proceeded to the University of London, where he obtained a Bachelor of Law degree in 1961. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1962 and began his legal career as a State Counsel in the Ministry of Justice, Kaduna State.
